The Temple of the Sun

If you are here at dawn at the summer solstice the rock, in the foreground will cast the shadow of a lynx on the rock in the background.

While the Andean people worshipped the sun, the places of honour, these seats placed within the rock wall, were reserved for the mummies of their dead.  Sounds like quite a party!

Beneath the temple sits an altar of sacrifice.
