Real Life

Our guide Alessandra, who prefers to be called Ali is originally from Cusco. As we drove out of town she happily explained real life in her home town.
The city is a mixture of old and new, poor and rich, like most of our cities. However, dwellings in the city are expensive and people have to pay taxes. Those living in the outskirts can live in better built, less expensive houses and they do not pay taxes.

This is one of many street black markets where people buy and sell outdated, fake or illegally obtained goods.
