Cuckoo

The Black Forest is well known for its cuckoo clocks. 

Below is a simple early version of this famous clock, using stones for weights and lacking the ornamental housing of later clocks seen below.

While these clocks are small and increasingly intricate in their design, this shop also featured a large cuckoo clock in the side wall complete with dancers who took their turn on the hour.
