Maultaschen


A local delicacy, maultachen are pockets of rolled dough filled with meat or eggs.  It is said that the Cisterian monks created the dishes to serve during Lent when Catholics should not eat meat.  They explained that God could not see the meat hidden inside.

The decorations in the local restaurant are typical Bavarian, charming in their simplicity.
