Transfiguration

High above the surrounding farm land, on Mount Tabor we began our morning under the thatched roof covering the remains of a fourth century church. Hear we listened to scripture about this famous site. Filling us with peace, one could imagine the wonder of the apostles as they witnessed about Lord transfigured. It is no wonder that Peter wanted to remain.

The site of the transfiguration of Christ, this new church was built in 1920 near the remains of other previous worship sites.
While the view of the valley below is breath taking, it was the ride down the mountain on a single lane road weaving between oncoming traffic, pedestrians and bicycles, that really took your breath away.
